Freedom Sailing is a  yacht charter and recognised RYA Training Centre based at Fairlie Quay Marina on the Firth of Clyde.  We operate a 40 foot cruising yacht which is currently berthed at Largs Yacht Haven. We are passionate about sailing, our seas and marine life. We are interested in:

• RYA sail and vocational training
• Environmental education, participation and outreach
• Community-led marine mammal research
• Environmental stewardship of Scotlands Seas
• Promoting marine ecology awareness

We are helping to coordinate an  urgently needed marine mammal survey and develop a Clyde Community Sightings Network in partnership with Hebridean Whale & Dolphin Trust.

David has been actively sailing for 25 years and is Principal of Freedom Sailing. He has been working commercially as a Yachtmaster Instructor for over 10 years and has recently been invited to become a Yachtmaster Examiner.

    He has a background in marine biology research, having studied Aquatic Bioscience at Glasgow University, before conducting research with the Scottish Association for Marine Science in conjuction with SEAFISH Industry Authority.
